As the summer draws to a close, September brings a fresh wave of energy and activity to the Jewellery Quarter. Explore hidden gems during Birmingham Heritage Week, reimagine the streets for Park(ing) Day, or discover the incredible talent of local makers at Birmingham Open Studios. Whether you’re a culture enthusiast or simply curious to see what’s happening in the Quarter, September offers the perfect opportunity to get involved.
Birmingham Heritage Week

From the 12th–21st September, Birmingham Heritage Week brings the city to life with over 200 events, and the Jewellery Quarter is right at the heart of it.
Step into workshops, wander through historic streets, peek behind normally closed doors, and discover the stories that shaped Birmingham’s famous creative district. From hidden histories to hands-on experiences, the JQ is bursting with ways to explore, learn, and be inspired.
Brum Park(ing) Day

Park(ing) Day is a global and annual event that temporarily transforms ordinary parking spaces into vibrant, creative, and green public spaces for people instead of a single vehicle. It’s a celebration of imagination and sustainability, showing how even the smallest urban spaces can serve the broader needs of the community.
The event, organised by Define in partnership with The Jewellery Quarter BID, will focus on transforming 6 parking bays along Caroline Street into creative parklets. Each space will offer something unique, from green oases and artistic installations to community seating and interactive displays.
Birmingham Open Studios

Birmingham’s biggest art trail returns late September. This year’s Birmingham Open Studios boasts 170 artists and groups over 86 venues meaning it’s their biggest trail ever!
Birmingham Open Studios allows artists and craftspeople of all experience to display their craft from their own homes or working studios. The public can view all of the artists’ work – for free – in the artist’s creative environment, giving them an insight into the artist’s lives and creative processes.
