The BOA Group’s Christmas Show at The Old Rep has been hailed as “a bostin show” and “WOW! What a show” in glowing reviews, with audiences praising its hilarious Birmingham twist on Cinderella, sensational singing, and festive sparkle.
Behind the scenes, the costumes that helped bring this production to life were designed by Leanne Fitchett, whose studio is right here in the Jewellery Quarter.
As well as costume design, she also runs a slow fashion brand, called Love Leanne Clothing, specialising in women’s occasion wear and corsetry.
Supporting the Next Generation of Creatives
The BOA Group is a multi-academy trust specialising in creative, digital, and performing arts education. As part of her role, Leanne not only designs costumes but also teaches students how to make and maintain them, as well as how to dress performers backstage. She guides them through the entire process, working alongside her dedicated costume team based at her Jewellery Quarter studio. This hands-on mentorship ensures that students gain real-world experience while contributing to the success of the show.
