At the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID), we believe in the power of community collaboration. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives offer businesses the opportunity to actively contribute to the well-being of our vibrant neighbourhood with a meaningful way for local businesses to give back.
By participating in our projects, your company can help enhance the cleanliness, greenery and attractiveness of the area.
Whether you’re a small independent shop or a large organisation, there are various ways you and your team can get involved and make a visible difference.
How Your Business Can Get Involved
Litter Picking and Graffiti Removal
Join our Clean Team in maintaining The Jewellery Quarter’s cleanliness.
We welcome volunteers to assist with litter picking, flyposting and graffiti removal to make public spaces more welcoming, particularly during World Clean Up Day and the Great British Spring Clean. These activities not only improve the environment but also foster a sense of community pride.
Painting
Join our Clean Team to improve the visual appeal of The Jewellery Quarter by painting around the area.
Gardening and Watering
Contribute to the improvement of the attractiveness of The Jewellery Quarter by volunteering in planting, maintaining floral displays/planters and watering opportunities.
Supporting JQ Heritage sites
Engage and support local businesses to preserve The Jewellery Quarter’s heritage by volunteering with the Coffin Works, Pen Museum and St Pauls Church.
Birmingham Voluntary Service Council
Many businesses have the ambition to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or Social Value targets but often find it challenging to identify where their contributions (funding, time, or resources) will have the most genuine and measurable impact.
- Identify Local Partners: Connect you with charities and third-sector organisations in Birmingham that could align with your company values.
- Target Specific Needs: Ensuring your resources address the actual, current priorities of the local communities.
- Fulfil Commitments: Helping you meet and exceed social value requirements within local government tenders or internal CSR goals.
- Boost Engagement: Creating opportunities for staff volunteering and skill-sharing that resonate with your team.
Benefits of participation
- Contribution to the improvement of the local environment and community.
- Enhancing corporate responsibilities and sustainability practices to add further value to your business.
- Providing your team with volunteering opportunities to foster teamwork and employee engagement and morale.
