A Jewellery Quarter-based fitness community is once again putting its energy behind an important local cause, as Kaizen Centre continues its longstanding support for Birmingham Mind.

Based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Kaizen has been a proud supporter of Birmingham Mind for several years, helping to raise vital funds for mental health services across Birmingham and Solihull.

The team will be returning to Cannon Hill Park on Sunday 29th November for Birmingham Mind’s fourth Mental Elf Festive Fun Run. For the past three years, Darryl and members of the Kaizen team have brought plenty of energy to the event by leading the festive warm-up, getting all the elves moving before the fun run gets underway.

And their support goes far beyond the warm-up. In 2023, Kaizen organised a Metcon challenge which raised more than £7,000 for Birmingham Mind, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to supporting mental health in the local community.

All funds raised for Birmingham Mind stay local, helping the charity continue to provide vital mental health support to people across Birmingham and Solihull.

Kerrie from Birmingham Mind said:

“I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to Darryl and everyone at Kaizen for their continued support for Birmingham Mind. We’ve been incredibly grateful to them all for being involved in our Mental Elf Festive Fun Run for the past three years, energetically leading the warm-up for all our elves before the fun run begins.

“We are very excited they’ve kindly agreed to be there again this year! Over the past three years our festive fun runs have raised over £53,000 for Birmingham Mind. This year we are aiming for £75,000.

“We could not do this without the generosity from local organisations like Kaizen. Their ongoing support enables Birmingham Mind to continue providing vital mental health support across Birmingham and Solihull.”

Darryl from Kaizen Centre added:

“Kaizen is all about a sense of community, performing at one’s best and feeling good! So, we love all the valuable work that Birmingham Mind do for the wider Birmingham community. Kerrie and the Mind team work endlessly to create fundraising opportunities to really help and support people in times of need. We will always support these incredible people, who work so hard to make people’s lives better.”

With more than £53,000 raised through the Mental Elf Festive Fun Run over the past three years, Birmingham Mind is aiming to make this year’s event its biggest yet, with an ambitious £75,000 fundraising target.

Kaizen’s continued involvement is a brilliant example of a Jewellery Quarter-based organisation making a positive contribution to the wider Birmingham community. From taking on fundraising challenges to bringing plenty of energy to the Mental Elf warm-up, their support is helping Birmingham Mind continue its vital work.

Birmingham Mind is incredibly grateful to Darryl, and everyone at Kaizen for their continued support and looks forward to seeing them back at Cannon Hill Park this November.
