Eventmasters are counting down to their favourite festive tradition – the Midlands Sporting Luncheon. Now celebrating its 35th year, this much-loved event returns bigger and better than ever, with England Rugby legend Dan Cole confirmed as Guest of Honour.
The Jewellery Quarter-based company invites you to join them at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel on Wednesday 10th December 2025 for an afternoon of world-class hospitality, festive fun, and rugby brilliance. Joining Dan Cole will be fellow Leicester Tigers great Tim Stimpson as Master of Ceremonies, and award-winning comedian Andrew Bird to keep the laughter flowing.
This year, Eventmasters invite you to celebrate with colleagues, clients, and friends – because 2025 deserves a proper send-off! Bring your team, grab a seat, and enjoy one of the UK’s most talked-about Christmas sporting events.
Guest of Honour: Dan Cole
One of the most respected forwards in world rugby, Dan Cole is England’s second most-capped player of all time. His illustrious career includes appearances in four Rugby World Cups and three Six Nations-winning sides, including the 2016 Grand Slam.
At club level, Dan has been a cornerstone of Leicester Tigers, helping the side to multiple Premiership titles. Off the field, he co-hosts the hit podcast For the Love of Rugby with teammate Ben Youngs – and jokes that his next career might be as a delivery driver for his wife’s floristry business. Even legends, it seems, aren’t afraid of a little hard work… or carrying heavy bouquets!
Fresh from his final professional season, Dan will be swapping the scrum for the stage at this year’s Luncheon – promising stories, insights, and plenty of humour.
Supporting a Great Cause
As always, the Midlands Sporting Luncheon proudly raises funds for Prostate Cancer UK, through a mix of live and silent auctions and the ever-popular Heads & Tails game.
Last year’s event raised an incredible £9,750, and this year Eventmasters hope to surpass that total, making the 35th annual Luncheon the most successful fundraiser yet.
