The Chamberlain Clock

About This Business

Made by Birmingham firm W. F. Evans & Sons of Handsworth, the clock was first unveiled in 1903 to commemorate Joseph Chamberlain’s visit to South Africa as Colonial Secretary. Chamberlain also served as Mayor of Birmingham between 1873 – 76 and a Member of Parliament from 1876 to his death in 1914. The clock was restored in 2021 by Smith of Derby, as part of a project by JQBID and JQ Townscape Heritage
