Following the overwhelming success of Brum Park(ing) Day 2025, the event is returning to the Jewellery Quarter this September.
Park(ing) Day is a global and annual event that temporarily transforms ordinary parking spaces into vibrant, creative, and green public spaces for people instead of for a single vehicle. It’s a celebration of imagination and sustainability, showing how even the smallest urban spaces can serve the broader needs of the community.
Shifting the streets from grey to green, the temporary installation will range from high energy community hubs to quiet, sanctuary-like spaces for connecting with nature. Each intervention demonstrates that creating meaningful public space doesn’t always require a large area, sometimes all it takes is a single parking space.
The event, organised by Define in partnership with The Jewellery Quarter BID, will focus on transforming parking bays along Caroline Street and Mary Street into creative parklets. Each space will offer something unique, from green oases and artistic installations to community seating and interactive displays.
