Besa Coffee has officially opened its doors at 48 Ludgate Hill in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, welcoming the community with a launch event that drew strong local support.

Opening on 28th February, the independent coffee shop celebrated its arrival with complimentary coffees for the first 50 guests, along with prizes and special offers throughout the morning. The response reflected the need for a new space rooted in care, comfort and community.

Besa Coffee brings a heritage-inspired concept to the Jewellery Quarter, promoting the JQ’s and Birmingham’s historical values. The coffee shop draws influence from the area’s legacy of silversmiths, goldsmiths and metalworkers, combining warm, cosy interiors and lighting influenced by the jewellery quarter colour pallet.

The name “BESA” reflects a code of honour built on trust and integrity, values that shape the coffee shop’s service style and overall experience. The brand positions itself as a space for connection and comfort in the heart of the city.

Founders Alex and Claire said:
“The Jewellery Quarter has such a strong identity built on heritage and craftsmanship and we wanted BESA to feel like it truly belongs here, a place where people feel looked after, whether they’re stopping by for a quick coffee or staying to spend time with friends.”

The menu focuses on quality, offering specialty coffee, matcha, teas, hot chocolate and a curated selection of pastries and toasties. Designed to serve both local professionals and weekend visitors, Besa balances grab-and-go convenience with a comfortable dine-in atmosphere.

As a new addition to the Jewellery Quarter, BESA Coffee looks forward to becoming part of everyday life, serving quality coffee with a hallmark of care.
